Note From The Commissioner: Let's Continue to Win for Baltimore!
I want to express my gratitude and pride in the entire Health Department for their hard work daily supporting the health needs of Baltimoreans. Despite the malware attack, we have continued to serve which I believe is a testament to everyone's commitment to our work and the City. I would like to provide a special recognition to our Management Information System (MIS) team for their support and the Office of Public Health Preparedness & Response for their leadership in the past few weeks.
In other great news, I am very excited to announce a nationwide Title X Gag Rule injunction has been granted to allow for continued Title X funding to the Health Department. Thank you to Maternal & Child Health, Reproductive Health Services, and School Health teams for providing testimony to support our continued need for support from these funds.
I'm also proud to announce that Baltimore has been selected as one of the three jurisdictions nationally to receive a Notice of Funding Announcement for the Centers for Disease Control Initiative, Ending the Epidemic, which seeks to end the AIDS epidemic in the next 10 years. Baltimore has been selected as a pilot site to continue the great work we are already doing to prevent and treat HIV and AIDS. I want to acknowledge and thank the Clinical Services and HIV/STD Prevention and the HIV/STD Services teams for all they do to support our residents.
Let’s continue to win for Baltimore!
